Skype for Business on Mac is the all new client that provides modern communication and collaboration experiences for your Mac. Compatible with Office 365, Skype for Business Server 2015, and Lync Server 2013. In addition to taking preview requests from commercial clients, Microsoft says it will begin seeding Skype for Business Mac Preview to IT administrators before opening the preview to more users. The team is asking preview users to share their feedback: you can either do it directly in the client by clicking on “Report an Issue” or via the Skype for Business Mac Preview feedback website. Skype for Business on Windows or Mac provides a great online meeting experience with the latest in audio and video features, desktop sharing, and ease of use. Preview phase one—Once you sign in, you’ll see your meetings for today and tomorrow, based on your Outlook calendar, displayed in the Skype for Business client. View your meetings schedule. Join any meeting with just one click and enjoy full screen video, content viewing, in-meeting chat and the ability to invite others to the meeting.

Hi Cloud Partners!
A fairly common ask we receive is “when will the Lync for Mac client get updated to the Skype for Business client on the Apple Mac platform?” The first step to get this is now available as a Public Preview. Partners and customers can obtain access to the preview by jumping over to the www.SkypePreview.com site and request an invite.
This preview program will roll out the client in three stages. The initial stage includes ability to experience the new look and feel (similar to the commercial version of Skype) and the ability to join and participate in Skype for Business meetings. Future stages will add support for instant messaging, presence and contacts as well as telephony and related features. Note that you can continue to use Lync for Mac 2011 client side-by-side with this Skype for Mac preview. Here is a quick screen shot of the UI:
